Almonds can prevent it, because the food is good enough to hold off hunger and also suitable to be eaten as a diet menu. Judging from the low glycemic index, including almonds foods that are digested slowly in the digestive tract. The lower the glycemic index, the increase in blood sugar levels will rise more slowly, making it safe for diabetics.

Sitting Too Long = Smoking

Is the title of the article above confusing you? What the mean the title? Yes I will explain to you.

Smoking. I am a smoker, :)

Are you also a smoker? Must have known that smoking is a very bad habit for your health. But there are other habits that have the same bad effects as smoking, there is sitting too long.

Dr. James Levine, a doctor from Mayo Clinic in Rochester says that sitting disease or illness caused by sitting too long just like a disease caused by side effects of smoking. According to Dr. Levine, in a study, adults who spend more than 4 hours a day sitting in front of the television has a 80 percent increased risk of death from heart disease, compared with adults who spend less than 2 hours sitting in front of the television.

"This risk is apart from other risk factors such as smoking and unhealthy diet," Dr. Levine.

In another study, sitting too long are also relatively to cancer risk. The total number of Cancer that have related with prolonged sitting as many as 173 000 cancer cases consisted of 49 000 cases of breast cancer, 43 000 cases of colon cancer, 37 200 cases of lung cancer, 30 600 cases of prostate cancer, 12,000 cases of endometrial cancer and 1,800 cases of ovarian cancer.

In addition, other studies have shown that women who sat through 7 hours per day exposed to higher risk of type 2 diabetes. The more time spent sitting in a week, then it tends to show signs of early disease.

Just to stand up enough, you will burn three times more calories than just sitting. Muscle contraction, including that required for standing seems to also trigger important processes related to the breakdown of fats and sugars.

"When you sit down,
muscle contraction will stops and this is slowing the process, "said Dr. Levine.
