What is Vaginitis?

What is Vaginitis?
Vaginitis  is a condition of inflammation in the vagina, causing  pain, itching, and discharge. Generally occurs due to change the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina or in other words there is an infection. Can also be  due to reduced estrogen levels. Typically after menopause.

Vaginitis  is common is type:
1. Bacterial vaginosis, obtained from the excessive growth of one organism in the vagina
2. Fungal infections, occurred because the fungus Candida albicans
3. Trichomoniasis, caused by the parasite and the sexual activity
4. Vaginal atrophy (atrophic vaginitis), due to decreased estrogen levels after menopause


Cause Of
The cause depends on the type of vaginitis is happening.

1. Bacterial vaginosis
Caused by bacterial vaginosis. Usually happens because there is abnormal growth or excess of one organism in the vagina. Women who frequently change partners and who use intrauterine device (IUD) had a greater risk of bacterial vaginosis.

2. Fungal infections
May be caused by a normal environment in the vagina changes. Spurring an overgrowth of yeast (Candida albicans). Fungal infections are not classified as a sexually transmitted infection.

3. Trichomoniasis
Sexually transmitted infections, due to parasites, and often called Trichomonas vaginalis. The organism infects the urinary tract of men, and there are no symptoms. Trichomoniasis infects the woman's vagina.

4. Non-infectious vaginitis
Vaginal sprays, detergents, soaps can cause allergies in the vagina.


Symptom
Symptoms that occur in vaginitis are:
1. Color change, causing the smell or the amount of fluid

3. Feel pain while having sex
4. Urination pain
5. vaginal bleeding


Treatment
For treatment, compared with its type, namely:

1. Bacterial vaginitis

Vaginal estrogen in the form of tablets or cream, can effectively treat atrophic vaginitis. These drugs can only be obtained by prescription.

5. Non-infectious vaginitis
